Taron Pounds has always had a love of music. Led Zeppelin being his all time favorite band, he jumped at the opportunity to be a guitar tech for one of the nations best Led Zeppelin tribute acts. The members of Let's Zeppelin: A Tribute became very close to Taron. They watched him grow from a young eager guitar tech to a very accomplished jazz guitar player. On July 7, 2012 Taron was involved in a life changing accident. While celebrating the marriage of his cousin, he had a commercial grade firework explode into the left side of his face, destroying the skin, muscle and bone from his jaw to his eye socket. His dad said the first thing he did was count Taron's fingers because he knew how much playing the guitar meant to him.
Taron has undergone several major surgeries and will continue to go through the reconstruction process for a long time. The members of Let's Zeppelin: A Tribute and their friends Electric Funeral - A Musical Tribute to Black Sabbath jumped at the chance to help Taron's family recover some of the ongoing medical bills. Along with these two major tribute acts, Idle will also join in the benefit. Idle is comprised of Taron's fellow Phi Sigma Kappa fraternity brothers from the NSU Tahlequah campus, where Taron was attending his sophomore year.
